Explore the life holistic. The more in balance one is - in all arenas - the more each segment contributes to the whole. For example, someone meditating daily yet consistently making unsustainable choices is not taking full advantage of the energy unleashed by the meditation. I truly believe that our multi-faceted-ness, like a multi-petaled flower, is what makes us so beautiful and unique. While individual posts cover single topics, collectively, the posts on this blog will help you to become more completely holistic. Namaste...

Asking for Mercy

The journey looms, scope unknown, the circuitous path winding away before us leading who-knows-where.  As we plod along the straightaway, we easily become complacent, numb; no need to worry, to push, to work harder.  An approaching curve catches our attention, appearing silently on the horizon, our gut clenching as they gets closer.  Somehow we know for eachthey bring a shift, a change, a loss or gain, however dramatic or insignificant.  We may hold our breath, close our eyes, even slow down, but it is inevitable; we reach the next one.  We are grateful when, having traversed the curve, we see smooth sailing, perhaps of a slightly different hue or fabric than the straightaway now behind us.  When the journey passes alongside wild terrain, filled with hidden, deadly ravines, monsters, terrors, we are so grateful that we are following a path, and not lost in that mess.  We know that stepping off the path, even for a moment, will set off unforeseen consequences, yet we often do it, even if purely out of boredom or as a means of claiming our selves, our individuality.  The longer the dalliance, the more difficult to return.  On the uphill stretches, we long for a respite, for water, a bench, anything to delay the inevitable blood, sweat, and tears required to reach the crest.  At the top, we catch our breath, take in the view, rejoicing in our capacity to climb this high, to where the air is measured in gulps.  Breath caught, we scan the downhill path, assessing our best progress, perhaps vainly attempting to hold off what comes next.  We must continue; however, here we try to slam on the brakes – surely it is dangerous to go this fast.  Is it fear of missing the details, or that we may stumble over an unforeseen stone?

For each, the journey is unique.  The straightaways, the curves, the witnessing, the highs, the lows, are taken at an individual pace, striding along in our personal, private shoes.  One of the points on which our journeys converge is where we feel terror, where the path before us heads to a black pit that looks suspiciously like hell.  Our mind revolts at the mere glimpse of what it is going to take to get us through; we imagine it is not possible.  Yet we are propelled forward, our minds shrieking “Stop!” but we cannot.  Logic tells us, if it cannot be done alone, yet must be done, we need help.  Then we are on common ground, then we ask for assistance – calling on the Divine, the Gods, the Fates – we are on common ground when we ask for mercy.

Turn Your Chair Around: Becoming More Self-Aware

Life is a challenge, no?  Lessons upon lessons.  Situations that bring self-growth.
Situations that make our heads spin. Sometimes the lesson is obvious, other times not so much.  Often the lesson to learn is relatively simple, yet complex in that the shift eludes us.  In all scenarios, however, Source has our back, and finds creative ways of manifesting situations in our lives to nudge us in the right direction.

Case in point:  in 2010, a friend and I were doing “swaps”.  She would work on me and, in turn, I would work on her.  (I gotta insert a plug for bartering here, such a magnificent model:  win/win!)  Picture the setup, as it is so relevant.  I am sitting on her couch, she is sitting on a dining room-type chair, facing me, pen and paper in hand.  As I focus in on what healing we are to do for her this session, I am drawn to an area across the space, behind her, and so get up and walk over there. Standing there, I understand that this is where I am to work from, and am kinda’ thrilled as there was a rug in this area and my bare feet were chilly.  Stay with me:  now I am facing her back.  I convey to her that I will be staying put and she is rather nonplussed and suggests that we move the whole darn rug over to the couch area.  By this time, I realize what is going on and replied, softly,
“Or, you could turn your chair around.”
She immediately laughed at the absurdity of her request.

What a great lesson, so beautifully and literally stated!  Most of us tend to want everything, everyone, else, to adjust to suit us rather than making a shift ourselves.  Becoming more self-aware often is as simple as turning one’s chair around.

Think of the possibilities next time you are experiencing conflict.

Healing is in the Hands of the Angels

Sometimes, we know something needs to be healed, and just can’t seem to get to the bottom of it.  Recently this has come up in conversation several times, so I figure it is a timely topic for a blog post.

Healing is all about allowing energy to flow.  Whether you call it prana, chi, orgone, Source, Guides, Angels, God, Jehovah, Nature, quantum particle, whatever works for you, it is still energy.  And when something is blocked, when energy isn’t flowing, we need to heal.  You know this to be true:  in the physical realm, if there is plaque in an artery, blood isn’t going to flow.  Blood, though “heavier” than spirit, is still energy.  And energy is in the hands of Source, by the graces of our Creator.  Our Guides, being “in the flow” are fully aware of all these blockages and how they interact.

Fairly recently, I had a pretty dramatic experience around this which taught me a lot, so I feel qualified to put in my two cents.  First of all, let me tell you, I know how frustrating it is. For years, I had known that something pretty awful happened to me when I was five years old.  Once I discovered there was an issue – a blockage – like a dog worrying a bone, I wouldn’t let it go.  I tried and tried to figure out what it was.  Being me, I just had to know.  I figured, if I know what it is, I can address it.

First line of attack:  try to figure it out myself – dead end.  I asked both my parents; they had no idea.  I worked with various holistic practitioners; no luck.  It was so frustrating;  I knew I was ready, I knew it needed to see the light of day, and it kept eluding me.

When it was finally revealed to me, I realized that I really hadn’t been ready.  The perspective from which I saw it at the time of its unveiling, provided the framework to place it within the context of my whole experience.  Had it come any earlier, it would not have “fit”.  I would have been like, “Are you kidding me?  That makes no sense!”

Perfect example of how sometimes what we think is the right time really isn’t and that we must trust Source to show the way when it is right.

Here’s where it gets better:I chose my life challenges

The other day, I was working with a client – let’s call this person by the androgynous name “Ashton” – who I knew has an issue he’d like to unveil, while at the same time being in total fear of what it will look like. In a previous session Ashton had been told that we would take our time uncovering the root of this issue, kind of soften it up as we went, and thus when the time was right, it wouldn’t be so traumatic.  In this session, an eternal companion – let’s call him “Jo” showed up and shared that he was Ashton’s friend, that, while Ashton was on the physical plane, and Jo was on the spiritual plane, there were still connected and that they had agreed on this plan before Ashton came here.  Jo showed how he has been working with Ashton and that this issue would be revealed soon, but not yet, and that there were things that had to happen first and provided some tools that Ashton was to use to work toward that goal.  How cool is that?

Knowing that everything is in Divine Right Order is one thing – having someone show up and tell you the plan another.  How beautiful.

So, next time you are stumbling around, frustrated, just remember that “someone up there” has got your back, and things will be revealed in due time.

Self-Healing Tip: Bras

What is, or should be, a bra?

I think we can all agree it is supposed to support one’s breasts, no?  Perhaps, in the process, make them appear more attractive, sexy, etc.; at the very least, a bra should keep the girls from hitting the floor.

Here is what a bra should NOT do:  cut off the flow of lymph.  Why is that important?  Because – and this is an extremely cursory explanation – without lymph, you’re a goner and if it isn’t flowing freely, you’re risking good health.  Ok, that was too cursory!  Here’s more:  lymph both feeds your cells and removes debris from the cells which is then filtered out in the lymph nodes (you know, those lumps you get in your neck when you have a bad cold?).

“Yea, yea, that’s all good and wonderful,

but what does that have to do with my bra?”

So glad you asked!

In my world, it’s all about living holistically, healing oneself in all areas, big and small.  When your bra is too tight, or has an underwire, the lymph flow is hindered.  Since lymph is everywhere in the body, any pressure on said body affects it (unlike blood, which is not so close to the surface, unless you’re really hot), so clothing can cut off lymph circulation. The metal in an underwire bra presses on two neurolymphatic reflex points, causing even more stress on the lymphatic system.  Of course, synthetic materials are in and of themselves a concern, so cotton is king.

What do do?

If you can afford to run out and buy all new, perfect-fitted, underwire-less, natural fabric bras, do that.

If not:

  • Adjust your bras best as you can to fit you better.
  • Cut the stitching at one end of the compartment where the underwire is sewed into the bra, and slide the underwire out.  Keep the bra.
  • Wearing an underwire bra for special occasions is fine, so keep one or two, just don’t wear them every day, and certainly not for hours on end.

Whatever you do, don’t sleep in a bra!  Either sleep nude or with loose-fitting, cotton pajamas – give the whole body the opportunity to breathe, to flow, to just BE.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, as always!

Healing by Source

I Don’t Know What I’m Doing…

Seriously.  I really don’t.

Not in any scientific, explainable, verifiable way.  I know that what we access in the energy work is powerful, transforming, life-changing in so many areas and levels, yet I couldn’t really tell you even what to call it beyond “Source”.

Last weekFlower_of_Life_Matted_01a, I worked with a woman over the phone who has a chronic debilitating condition.  Source worked on her, and whatever we started during that phone session was going to continue to percolate through her for the following three weeks.  This was strong stuff, as my body was reacting in a rather strange (now, that’s a relative term!) manner.  Before we hung up, she asked about an appointment she had in a few days with some equipment that has an 80% effectiveness rate on healing (80%, btw, is extremely high), as follow up to a previous treatment she had with said equipment.  She was told to wait until the three weeks were up, as the treatment would interfere with the healing that had been set in motion in our session.

Today, I got an update:  Subsequent to our session, the person who owns the equipment told her that she needed to get in sooner rather than later in order to maintain the efficacy of her previous work with that equipment.  Poor woman, of course she was now torn.

Doing her due diligence – good for her! – she called a third party to get some input. That person called in someone who is extremely talented and accurate using a pendulum.  They got that she should wait til at least May 8, and preferably May 9, to use the equipment (note:  May 8 will be exactly three weeks, and neither of these two knew that!).  In addition, they got that doing it even one day early, May 7, would decrease the effectiveness by 50%. ONE DAY!!

Whoa!

So what is actually happening?  To claim I know would be false.  I just know that healing via Source and having a holistic approach is much more powerful than any machine or supplement or treatment or anything else we earthly folks can utilize.  Call in Source, let It do what It wants, and you will get amazing results.  Now, when she gets her next treatment with that equipment, her body will utilize it much better.

Would you like to get you some of that?

Would you like to be wrapped in love?

Well you can, easy as pie.  Join us for our next Butterfly Experience and you will be swimming in Source-laden soup for an entire weekend.  Next date is May 30 through June 1.  That’s five weeks away.

Even though the cost for the retreat is very low compared with pretty much any other retreat out there, I know money is tight for many.  If it helps, you can make payments – weekly, or whatever suits you.  Click here for details.

Spring Cleaning

Do you spring clean?  I have to admit, I do not.  My mother still does – she literally scrubs the entire house, the walls, the ceiling, the curtains, everything!  Sounds like way too much work, but her house does feel really clean.  Spring cleaning is an old tradition, one most of us modern folks no longer bother with.  Granted, we don’t have coal stoves and furnaces that belch oodles of soot all over the place, but we do have ductwork that spews out dust.  Hmmm…  maybe I need to re-think that one.

In any case, this post is about spring cleaning our insides, getting rid of some of the accumulated soot and dust so that our bodies can function better, can feel clean inside and out, like my mom’s house.spring clean yourself

If you haven’t done any cleanses in the past, let’s start you off with some simple, easy ones.  If you’re up for something more intense, reply via the comment section, and we’ll get you a more vigorous recipe.  Here are four to consider:

~ End your day on a sour note!  Squeeze the juice of a lemon into warm water and drink before going to bed.

~ Black looks good IN you!  Activated charcoal:  Effective, gentle, and inexpensive, what’s not to like?  Charcoal is commonly used to purify water and for chemical poison victims.  The reason is it has the remarkable capacity to act as a sponge in our digestive systems, sucking up debris and carrying it away with it – even LDL.  Just stir a tablespoon into a glass of water, and you’ve done some scrubbing – 30,000 square feet worth!  Rather than wait for a disaster, make it a daily habit and your body will be singing.

~ Act like a Nobel Prize winner!  Dr. Linus Pauling, winner of not one but two undivided Nobel Prizes was a huge proponent of vitamin C, so consider a vitamin C flush safe territory.  There are many variations on this theme, so here is the simplest: use powdered vitamin C (ascorbic acid) by adding it to water.  Start with one tsp every 15 minutes until you have a liquid bowel movement.  This will actually be lymph flushing; lymph acts as our sewage system, and giving this a good regular scrubbing makes all the other systems work better.  As I said, there are many versions, you can also do it at night, work up to high doses, etc.  This is a great remedy for anyone new to supplementing who feels uneasy, as C is water soluble and therefore will not build up in the body – you can’t overdose.

~ Seashells by the Seaside!  Just kidding, I just couldn’t think of anything more clever to highlight the salt water flush.  This is done when you get up in the morning.  Add two level tablespoons of uniodized sea salt plus the juice of one lemon to a quart of lukewarm water; shake; drink.  Yum.  Kidding, again.  Have a designated bathroom.  Seriously.  You are not gonna want anything to get between you and the toilet; you will be eliminating all kinds of stuff and likely more than once.

Be a baby!  I’m gonna let you in on a secret:  cleanses can make your bottom sore.  The first two I cited won’t likely do it, but the last two probably will.  And what do babies do for their sore bottoms?  They use diaper cream, of course!  Having a spray bottle to rinse off your bottom rather than wiping with toilet paper will also help in the comfort department.

There you go, some spring cleaning ideas.  Hope you like how your house (you know, the one you walk around in) looks afterwards!

As always, I love to hear how you do, so please use the comment section below and share how your holistic healing journey is going.

FYI – I swiped the photo from a homeschooling website; I hope they don’t mind, especially since I left their link in.

Have You Fed Yourself Lately?

I bet your initial response to that question is, “Are you kidding?  I feed myself too much!”  That may be, but what I am after here is, are you actually providing your body with nutrition?  Whole, real, live food?

That whole “you are what you eat” adage is absolute – your body can only create new cells, heal broken ones, fight off infection, etc., with what you give it.  If the body is provided with wimpy ammunition, it can only do a wimpy job.

You get it that being around positive people, having a positive attitude, SMILING, etc. is good for you, so doesn’t it make sense that positive food is, too?  If you feel you are not at your optimum, add some live food to your diet.  Notice what I am not saying:  give up your current diet.  While that may be an absolute mess, today’s tip is simply to add one positive thing, not take anything away.

So, what to add?  Here’s a starter list, just pick one for now.  Be sure you have it on a DAILY basis.

  • fresh salad
  • wheatgrass or greens powder – I have RBC Life’s spirulina powder every day; if I miss, I feel exhausted by mid-afternoon – http://bit.ly/1h23aIZ – if you are so inclined, consider using our wonderful friends Pamm & Paul distributor #12255
  • Chocolate Bliss superfood – this is the good stuff, wish I were a distributor, ’cause you’re gonna love it – http://bit.ly/1euAQBP
  • juice (as in fresh fruit & veggies put thru a juicer)
  • maca, yes, maca – very high in all the goodies a body needs
  • handful of raw almonds (preferably soaked 24 hours, rinsed, and drained)

Except where noted, all of these items are available at a health food store.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

Just add one item, stick to it, and see what happens.  Your body will thank you.

Catch Yourself Smiling

Finding Joy in the Mundane

Do something for me, right now, if you don’t mind.  Smile.  Just do whatever you’re doing, see wherever you’re looking, and smile.  Notice the immediate shift in your energy?  A critical component to vibrant health is a positive attitude and emotional wellness.  For this week, I’d like you to experiment with taking on a positive attitude, adding smiles to your life as often as possible.joy

  • Long line at the check-out?  Smile.
  • Toast burnt?  Smile.
  • Someone walks in?  Smile.
  • Driving?  Smile.
  • Showering? Smile.

You get the picture…

If you want to take it a step further, in addition to making the conscious effort to “manually” putting a smile on your face, count how many times you catch yourself smiling and then challenge yourself to increase that number the next day, and the day after that, and so on.

Let me know how you do!

I will be sending out these health tips on a regular basis, so keep your eyes on this space.

8 Simple Ways to Raise Your Vibration

The thing about life is, well… it’s life.  It’s organic, shifting, breathing, moving, ever-changing, and so, so beautiful.  We each of us have our ups and downs, triumphs and challenges, an eternal roller-coaster journey.  We may go days, weeks, or even months feeling “up” and then have “down” periods; sometimes the ups and downs happen in the same day!  While the purpose of challenges (those moments we tend to classify as “down”) is to encourage personal growth, sometimes rising up to that challenge, and doing it with joy, can be difficult, seemingly impossible.

While there is no substitute for doing the hard work of deep healing, there are simple ways we can help ourselves get through the day and avoid allowing the challenges to overwhelm us.

Here, in no particular order, are some tools you can use whenever needed:

  1. Spritz yourself with rose water; simple yet effective.  Rose oil vibrates at a frequency of 320 MHz (our brains vibrate at around 75 MHz); raising your vibration puts you above your surroundings, causes your Self to be attuned to higher things, creates harmony.  If you can afford it, purchase a high-quality oil, otherwise, whatever your local health food store carries will do; get a small spray bottle, fill it with distilled water, add 5-8 drops of the rose oil, shake to mix.  Spritz around your head and body as needed.  I keep a bottle in my vanity and one in my healer bag so I almost always have one available to me.
  2. Wear angel aura quartz.  Angel aura is produced when vaporized platinum and silver are bonded onto quartz.  The    combination creates a powerful stone which is calming, enhances connection with our own higher Selves as well as the metaphysical realms, and brings an overall sense of peace.  There are many sources on the internet (few rock shops carry them regularly); wear it either as a pendant or in a pocket (my personal preference is that the quartz be in its’ original, point shape, and not tumbled).
  3. Introspection.  This is the one we tend to avoid like the plague (the reasons for this is a whole other conversation, which we’ll do some other day).  Turning within and seeking out the reasons behind why we are reacting to the situation as we are, or why it causes us stress, is very rewarding and highly effective.  Once you have figured out the root cause of why, moving on follows naturally.  “Oh, my boss yelling at me reminds me of my mom being angry with me when I was a child.  I get it.  [sigh]  Ok, my boss is not my mom, and I don’t have to let it stress me out.”  Obviously, there are degrees of healing, and while this may not clear the issue entirely, having the perspective makes it easier to manage, at least until you can do deeper work.
  4. Mankind has been doing this one since he first drew breath.  Prayer puts us directly in contact with Source, and, whether we “hear” the response or not, just the simple act of prayer is enough to raise our vibration.  The length of the prayer is not important; the way to make it work for you is to really feel the prayer, have the intention of connection, of being part of the fabric of the Universe, of allowing, of embracing the “let go and let God” adage.
  5. Sternum tapping – yes, sternum tapping; and no, I don’t mean be all crazy-acting like King Kong.  Using the three center fingers, vertically-aligned, of either hand, tap on the sternum lightly, but with enough force to feel the vibration.  Speed should be about three to four taps per second; 20 seconds is long enough.  This energizes the lymph nodes behind there, waking up the immune system, and invigorating the body.  Note:  not to be confused with sternum thumping, or precordial thumping, a much more violent thump used to restart the heart of a cardiac arrest victim.
  6. Here’s a nice old-fashioned one:  write & burn a letterYou’ll have to hunt for those quaint tools of communication known as pen and paper, but it will be worth it.  Put the pen to the paper and just let it flow; no need to make sense, no need to concern yourself over grammar or punctuation, whatever comes out will be perfect.  Next is the burn part – this is where you are handing your frustrations over to Source and letting them go.  Please do this safely, outside in a fire pit is ideal; inside in your kitchen sink fairly safe as well.
  7. 3 exhalations, done rapidly and forcefully, in quick succession.  Sounds silly, I know, but it is similar to the well-known “count to ten” exercise.  It releases the negativity that has built up and gives you a chance to calm yourself before moving on.
  8. You may or may not be familiar with the science behind it, but we are actually vibrational, energetic Beings.  There are energy centers throughout the body and near proximity that interact and drive the physical body.  The most well-known are the seven centers identified as:  root (pubic area), sacral (~ 2” below the belly button), solar plexus (just below the ribs), heart, throat, 3rd eye (just above and between the eyebrows), and crown (top of head).  If these centers get clogged up, so to speak, it has an adverse effect on our state of well-being.  Some make it a daily practice to clear the chakras, but it can also be done on an as-needed basis.  Starting with the root chakra, simply rotate your hand in a clock-wise movement (with your body as the clock-face) over each chakra on the front side of your body for a few moments.  Some folks can actually feel the energy; whether one does or not does not affect the outcome.  If you have someone with you willing to do so, they can do the back side for you.

There you go:  your very own emergency tool kit.  Not by any means a complete list, but a good start.  It would make me so happy if even one of them helps you through your day.

If you have any comments or questions, I’d love to hear them.

Peace be with you.

Pulling Together to Turn the Course of this Earth Ship

Do you want to watch this video, Midway, a Message from the Gyre?  Probably not.  Should you?  Definitely.

If you are a fan of this page, you are more than likely a lightworker, to one degree or another.  Awake, anyway.  As such, you surely know that we are irrevocably intertwined, eternally entangled, my dust to your dust, your ashes to my ashes; each and every thought we have, each action, each decision, each purchase, affects the whole.  This trailer, for the documentary “Midway” (scheduled to be released later this year), will break your heart.  At least I sure hope it will.  To see that our actions are causing the agonizing deaths of innocent creatures thousands of miles away can do nothing less – and from that place of broken/openness one can take action, can decide to make better choices, to start living a cleaner life, if not for one’s Self or for one’s children, then for the simple desire to alleviate the pain in our collective hearts one tiny bit.

Please, watch the video, and look at your own life, see where you can make changes.  The future of this planet, and all life upon it, depends on each and every one of us doing our part.  Doing your part today will make it easier for your neighbor to do his tomorrow.
